(a) Temperature

22. In UK climatic conditions, high or low temperatures alone are unlikely to pose a serious threat to the birds' welfare. However, high temperatures in conjunction with other environmental influences may lead to heat stress within conventional houses.

Recommendation.

23. To assist with the management of the flock we recommend that the maximum and minimum temperatures should be recorded daily and efforts made to avoid extremes of temperature within conventional (enclosed) houses.
